FAQs
When is the best time to book my maternity session? I recommend getting on the calendar as soon as possible. Around 30-34 weeks pregnant is the best time to shoot a maternity session. You are far enough along to have a nice round bump but not far enough along to be completely miserable just yet.
Can I book a fresh 48 session before I have the baby? Absolutely! I recommend it! Fresh 48 sessions are limited on time since you are only in the hospital for a short period after baby is born. You should book your fresh 48 session at least a few months before baby is due so I can get your due date on my calendar and have a sitter on call for my daughter.
When is the best time to book the newborn session? Newborns are typically best to work with under 2 weeks old. They are sleepier, not yet cluster feeding, and easier to settle into poses. Because of this, I recommend booking a few months before baby is due so I can get your due date on my calendar and keep availability open around your due date.
My baby is over a month old, can we do a newborn session? I can absolutely try but I really recommend booking a tummy time session for when baby is around 3 months old instead. Their personality really starts to come through and they will be so much happier and easier to work with.
Do you have plus size gowns in your client closet? Of course I do! I have gowns of all sizes, colors, and styles! Don’t know what style you’re looking for? Let’s set up a time for you to come to the studio for your own little try on haul!
Can I book a newborn mini session and get 1 or 2 photos with baby & sibling(s)? Sure thing! It is an additional $50 to add siblings to a mini session and adds about 15 minutes to the session time.
Do you offer birth photography? I absolutely adore birth photography and miss it so much but being a momma myself with a husband and family that works full time, I am unable to be on call at all times like required with birth photography.
Do you offer a 1st year milestone package? I do not have any packages set up other than the Bump to Baby package but if you are interested in booking more than one bump, baby, and beyond session please private message me and we can talk details and discounts! Mini newborn session is excluded from bundling with other sessions for a discount.
Do you require a deposit when booking sessions? If so, how much? Each session is different so it’s easier to just contact me and ask but each session does require a non-refundable retainer fee and remaining balances are due the day before the session.
